Conversion Leaders

I decided to go digging into some of World Rugby’s stats and started with conversions since they are pretty easy. World Rugby displays the players with the most conversions but they don’t display their conversion success rate. And they only display the leaders, not a complete list.

Below is a complete list along with each player’s success rate through the first day of Paris. The table is sorted by total conversions to keep the most common kickers at the top. If sorted by success rate you’ll get a bunch of players who are kicking 100% on just a few attempts. But feel free to sort the table however you would like.

Eventually I plan to tie the table below to some of my data so we know each conversion’s width. Perhaps Scott Wight benefits from centered tries. Knowing the width will help us evaluate each kicker by the difficulty of the conversions they have attempted. But for now, at least we have the individual success rates.
